Shannon Michelle Wilsey Longoria, took the stage name, Savannah, from her favorite movie,’Savannah Smiles’,and porn legend was born. As one of the most high-profile starlets of her time, she achieved notoriety within her short career due to her on-screen presence as well as her off-screen life.

As the child of a broken home, Savannah spent most of her time growing up in California, where she persued the life of a rock n roll groupie. At the age of 16 she left home and took up with rock legend, Greg Allman. The pair stayed together for 2 years despite the fact she was underage. After getting pregnant and miscarrying, Savannah left Allman and latched onto Billy Sheehan, bassist for the band, Mr. Big. The two stayed together until she began her nude modeling career, when she turned 19. Her pictorials caught notice as she was quickly signed to an exclusive contract with Vivid. Her looks, along with a strong media blitz by Vivid, catapulted her to the top tier of the industry almost overnight. Soon she was one of the most recognizable, and sought after starlets in the biz. However, she started believing her own hype, and garnered the reputation of a diva on the set, and very difficult to work with, so much so that Vivid severed ties with her even though she was a money maker.

The press soon started to follow her exploits with many different rockers, as well as a long relationship with actor, Pauley Shore. She found lots of work freelancing herself to many studios, where she still showed great profitability. Soon she found her way into a serious relationship with Jeanna Fine. Though the affair lasted nearly a year, the two split on bad terms. Savannah then started having severe bouts of depression and anxiety.

Savannah was involved in a serious auto accident on July 11, 1994, that caused lacerations to her face along with a broken nose. After being released from the hospital that morning, and arriving home, called her manager in hysterics, and reportedly told her manager that without her face, she was useless. Savannah then retrieved her 9mm pistol that she kept for protection and shot herself in the head. She was rushed back to the hospital where she laid in a coma for 11 hrs. Upon being taken off life support, she was pronounced dead.

Savannah left many unanswered questions in her wake as well as nearly 100 features for her fans to remember her by. She was posthumously enshrined into the AVN Hall of Fame.
