Linda Wong was the very first, big time, Asian porn starlet. She burned her way thru over 40 features during her carnal career. Starting in the early 70s, the San Francisco native, delved into the city’s blossoming porn scene and made a great many loops, mostly for Swedish Erotica. There was often teamed up with the likes of John Holmes & Jon Martin who were the top studs on the scene at the time, as well as many a lesbian scene with Annette Haven. Soon she graduated to hardcore features and her success and star rose extremely fast as there were only a couple of Asians even in the biz.

Her performances were always steamy and she had a natural ability to set fire to the screen and her audience’s pants as well. She was not the most accomplished oralist in the industry, nor was she an all out wanton, but she was in demand simply because of her ethnicity and willingness to do anything for the cameras.

By the time the 80s rolled around Linda was a seen less frequently on the screen, and eventually she left the biz behind. She did try a comeback later in the decade, but once again left after a few features. In 1987, Linda died of a drug overdose, while she was out on bond awaiting trial on charges of passing phony prescriptions. In 2000, she was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame, never achieving the level of success many of her contemporaries enjoyed. However, for the world of Asian starlets, she was the first and she led the way.
